Position Summary
The Recruiting Specialist supports the delivery of high-quality talent acquisition services by providing operational, administrative, and early-stage recruiting support across the hiring lifecycle. This role combines strong organizational execution with hands-on exposure to recruiting activities and candidate engagement.
Reporting to the Director, Talent Acquisition, the Recruiting Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring a smooth, compliant, and positive candidate and hiring manager experience. In addition to managing recruiting logistics and systems, this role participates in sourcing, screening support, career fairs, and community outreach, serving as a visible ambassador of Georgia System Operations Company's (GSOC's) employer brand.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting Operations & Administrative Support (Approximately 70%)
+ Coordinate and manage recruiting logistics, including interview scheduling, candidate communications, and hiring process coordination.
+ Maintain accurate candidate, requisition, and interview data within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
+ Prepare offer and hiring documentation in partnership with recruiters, HR Business Partners, and hiring managers.
+ Support background checks, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding coordination in compliance with organizational policies.
+ Serve as a primary point of contact for candidates during scheduling and pre-hire phases, ensuring timely communication and a positive experience.
+ Assist with job posting administration and posting maintenance across internal and external platforms.
+ Support audit readiness and compliance by maintaining documentation and records aligned with federal, state, and organizational requirements.
Recruiting & Candidate Engagement (Approximately 30%)
+ Support early-stage recruiting activities such as resume review, candidate screening support, and interview coordination.
+ Participate in career fairs, hiring events, community outreach, and campus or professional networking events as a representative of GSOC.
+ Conduct or support initial candidate outreach and engagement efforts under the guidance of the Lead Talent Acquisition Partner.
+ Assist with talent pipeline development for recurring or entry-level roles.
+ Provide input on candidate experience improvements and recruiting process enhancements.
Employer Branding & Outreach
+ Represent GSOC's culture, values, and employee value proposition to prospective candidates.
+ Support employer branding initiatives, recruitment campaigns, and event logistics.
+ Build positive relationships with candidates, community partners, and event stakeholders.
Process Improvement & Team Support
+ Identify opportunities to improve recruiting workflows, tools, and candidate communications.
+ Provide feedback and recommendations to the Lead Talent Acquisition Partner and Director of Talent Acquisition to support continuous improvement.
+ Support change management efforts related to new systems, tools, or recruiting processes.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
+ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field or equivalent transferable experience.
+ Experience in roles requiring interviewing, investigation, compliance, coordination, training, or public interaction is strongly valued.
+ Prior experience in recruiting, HR coordination, talent acquisition operations, or workforce support is a plus but not required.

Preferred
+ Experience supporting interviews, investigations, background checks, or hiring-related processes.
+ Experience representing an organization in public-facing roles (career fairs, outreach events, training, community engagement).
+ Familiarity with ATS or HR systems.
