Our team in Watervliet, NY is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a **union manufacturing production operator position.** The Manufacturing Operator will be responsible for operating all production equipment and maintaining production specifications in accordance with the specific processes while ensuring safety, quality and efficiency goals are met.

This position is within the Making Department and reports directly to the Production Foreman - Nights.

+ High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

+ Experience operating a forklift is preferred.

+ 1-2 years of previous experience working with industrial equipment and/or in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

+ This position requires flexibility and commitment to work an alternating 3-day / 4-day weekly schedule for 12 hours per manufacturing shift.

+ Attention to detail, problem solving and working as a team is paramount in this position.

+ Candidates must have good communication skills exhibiting the ability to interact with others, as well as basic computer skills.

+ Consistent, proper use of personal protective equipment is required.

+ Must have the ability respect and follow all safety policies and procedures.

+ Requires ability to lift/move up to 50-pounds, climb, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach overhead and work in high temperatures.

Membership in the United Steelworkers Local 17 is required for this position. The shift assignment will be 7PM - 7AM Monday - Wednesday and Monday - Thursday on a rotating basis.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the pay range or this position which is $30.46 per hour and a shift differential of $.40 per hour.

In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to $5,000 based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include:

+ Shift Differentials (i.e. Hourly Rate plus Shift Differential of $.40 per hour, depending on schedule)
