JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Network Engineer to support the Enterprise Achitecture and System Engineering area and the Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) Boundary task order work within the AFNCR. The AFNCR IT Services program provides support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites.

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: CompTIA Security+ CE or IAT Level II equivalent and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Final Secret at a minimum
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The network engineer would be responsible for:
+ Perform engineering for new circuit installations, modifications, and deactivations.
+ Design and coordinate the installation and acceptance testing of the system network.
+ Monitors network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options.
+ Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network; performs cost/benefit studies of network configurations and recommends enhancements;
+ Directs acquisition, installation, and testing of network hardware; advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations; and isolates, resolves, or circumvents network problems.
+ May provide daily supervision and direction to support staff.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Active, Final DOD Secret Clearance
+ Active DoD 8570 IAT II certification (ex. Security+).
+ Active CCNA
+ Minimum/General Experience: Eight years (8) experience analyzing, identifying, and resolving complex network hardware, circuit, and transmission logic problems. Experience in the design, installation and acceptance testing of complex high-speed networks. Applies the principles of assessing and analyzing network transmission application to resolve reported malfunctions.
+ Minimum Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, or business/finance
+ No degree, 11 years' relevant and progressive experience;
+ Excellent communications skills.
