Our client, a leading manufacturer in the coatings and paints industry, is seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to join their team. As a Quality Technician, you will be part of the Quality Control Department supporting production and laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Quality Technician
**Location:** Waukegan, IL
**Shift:** Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with training in the first shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM for two months
What's the Job?
+ Analyze and test manufactured products and raw materials using approved test methods to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
+ Conduct tests such as viscosity, gloss, hardness, weight per gallon, and adhesion to evaluate product quality.
+ Evaluate test results and prepare batch adjustments within approved ranges to maintain product consistency.
+ Collaborate with QC, Production, and RDI teams to resolve quality-related issues and improve processes.
+ Prepare pre-shipment samples for customer submissions and participate in laboratory housekeeping activities.
What's Needed?
+ High School diploma or equivalent required.
+ Good basic math and computer skills, especially in MS Office applications.
+ Ability to walk or stand for the majority of the shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Capable of wearing a breathing apparatus and passing a fit test.
+ Attention to detail and strong communication skills to work effectively with team members.
