    Asphalt Mill Operator

    As an Asphalt Mill Operator , you run and maintain milling equipment to remove worn asphalt and prep surfaces for paving. You keep production moving, hit specs, and work safely with the crew.

     

    What you do

     

    + Operate asphalt milling machines and support equipment.

    + Remove existing asphalt to project depth and width requirements.

    + Follow all safety rules, jobsite plans, and traffic control setups.

    + Inspect equipment daily and handle routine maintenance:

    + Greasing

    + Cleaning

    + Minor repairs

    + Monitor milling operations and adjust as needed to meet specs.

    + Help move and load milling equipment between job sites.

    + Work closely with the milling crew, paving crews, and foremen.

    + Complete basic logs for maintenance, production, and issues.

     

    What you bring

     

    + Prior asphalt milling experience preferred.

    + Understanding of asphalt paving operations.

    + Willingness to travel across Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

    + Reliable attendance and availability for regular overtime.

    + Strong mechanical aptitude.

    + Clear communication and solid teamwork.

    + Ability to lift heavy parts and work on your feet all day.

    + Valid driver’s license with a clean record.

    + Class A CDL preferred.

    + Acceptable motor vehicle record.

    + Safety-first mindset. No shortcuts.

    Pay & Benefits

     

    Your hourly rate depends on experience, and many of our projects qualify for Davis-Bacon prevailing wage.
