Summary
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in production activities. Including performing a set of tasks specific to your expertise and/or helping other crew members with production throughout the build. Ie: (setup, threaded pipe, tubing, electrical, test & finish, or welding)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Leadership
+ Maintains focus of productivity, quality and safety in order to meet our customer’s expectations.
+ Ensures that all employees under your area of responsibility are working in a safe, productive manner.
+ Ensures that all employees under your area of responsibility are adhering to Company work and safety rules and are producing the appropriate level of quality.
+ Promote safety best practices including risk management practices to avoid danger or injury.
+ Promote a clean work environment to safeguard against injury and material handling errors.
Planning
+ Communicates with Assembly Coordinator as needed to address areas of concern or issues faced that impact production deadlines, personnel or product quality.
+ Estimates required worker hours and creates work schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
+ Communicate any excess capacity within team to assembly coordinator for the purpose of providing resources when needed by other teams and/or departments.
+ Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
+ Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area.
+ Plans flow of materials through department and develops physical layout of materials and equipment according to work orders.
+ Trains and develops personnel on crews to their full potential.
Production / Quality
+ Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
+ Consults with engineering personnel relative to required modifications during the production process.
+ Coordinates with Assembly Team Leaders and others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
+ Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
+ Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods and quality of product.
+ Inspects and measures work in process to verify conformance to specifications. Performs technical problem solving on the floor related to production problems.
Administration
+ Provides progress reporting on work status to the Assembly Coordinator.
+ Assists in the development of capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.
+ Estimates and requisitions consumables used in the production process.
+ Performs required administrative tasks for people management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises multiple employees on their assembly team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
