    Responsible for providing leadership to ensure ongoing process improvement initiatives that deliver excellence across entire value chain. Coordinates and leads facility resources and employees to meet or exceed company business objectives. Organizes strategic initiatives and utilizes enterprise standards for the Maintenance, Facilities, Tool Room, and Manufacturing Engineering departments.

    Responsibilities:

    + Develop and/or recommend operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.

    + Design and direct the work of the team. Select, coach, and develop staff. Set clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manage performance by recognizing achievement, providing feedback, and administering progressive discipline when necessary.

    + Act as operations partner, provide support to GENERAC’s Operating Model to develop a demand driven environment. Ensure product, material and information streams flow and synchronized to produce maximum efficiencies and lowest cost of operation.

    + Drive facility operations priorities to meet or exceed customer expectations, achieve KPI’s.

    + Manage Maintenance, Tool Room, Controls, and Manufacturing Engineering functions.

    + Oversee, direct, and assign activities and responsibilities that ensure the highest level of operating standards regarding facility appearance/cleanness/orderliness and Environmental, Health and Safety.

    + Manage planning, configuration, construction, and alteration of equipment, machinery. Drive equipment availability through TPM, RCM, PdM, CBM, and RCA practices.

    + Manage technical aspects of the factory, including controls and automation and the individuals responsible for the daily upkeep and improvements of these areas.

    + Lead department strategic initiative, standardize and carry the responsibility for preventative maintenance, property, plant, equipment, environment, health and safety and capital expenditure (CAPEX).

    + Responsible for budgeting, setting, and maintaining spare parts inventory.

    + Oversee and assign activities and responsibilities for projects assigned to ensure timelines and budgets are met. Lead Project Managers through the implementation of new technologies and equipment. Define resource needs and works within budget and staffing parameters to accomplish objectives for area of responsibility.

    + Manage all aspects of the CMMS system including site implementation and ongoing enhancements as required.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Technology or related degree OR 8 years related experience in the Engineering and Maintenance function within a similar working environment.

    Work Experience

    + 10 + years’ experience working and supporting a lean manufacturing environment.

    + 5 years of progressive Engineering and/or Maintenance management experience in similar work environment.

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

    + Understanding and application of Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Total Productive Maintenance and Reliability processes.

    + Experience with development & maintenance of engineered equipment. Electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, PLC controls, servo motors, MES, DC tool integration, conveyance, HVAC.

    + Understanding of Regulatory Compliance (EPA, OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, DOT)

    + Experience in facilities management, manufacturing engineering, controls & tool & die manufacturing.

    + Experience collaborating with multiple sites and functions to drive common solutions.

    + Proven project management background.

    + Successfully managed shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    + Demonstrated ability to influence senior management, teams, and individuals across multiple functions.

    + Familiarity of safeguarding procedures and protocols.

    + Demonstrated understanding and application of lean manufacturing principles.

    + Demonstrated understanding of financial measurements and goals. Previous experience using SAP/MRP or equivalent ERP.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Education

    + Advanced degree in Engineering, Technical Management or Business Management

    Experience

    + 15 + years’ experience working and supporting a lean manufacturing environment.

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

    + Familiarity with principles and practices of budget preparation and administration.

    + CMMS implementation experience.

    + Controls design, implementation, and troubleshooting

    + 3D modeling, fixturing, machine building

    + World class manufacturing (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S) experience.

    **Physical Demands** : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
