The Medical Assistant I maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families.

Qualifications

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA), Education: H.S. Diploma/GED (Required), Work Experience:

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.

Rooming patients: Collecting pertinent information regarding the patient's chief complaint, family history, social history, surgical history, and medication reconciliation upon arrival for a patient visit.

Maintain department specific competencies related to point of care testing, equipment handling, and specialty training.

Prepare patient and supplies for department specific procedures

Perform vital signs, fetal heart rate, reconcile medications, obtain medical/surgical/family history of patients being seen in MFM Room patients and prepare patient appropriately based on visit type and clean room after patient leaves Order/maintain medical supplies and stock exam rooms as needed Prepare specimens obtained correctly and transport to laboratory Perform Quality Control/Point of Care on testing supplies utilized in MFM Assist provider during procedures specific to MFM; e.g. amniocentesis, cerclage removal, IUD insertion/removal Appropriately and thoroughly document nursing care

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $17.12per hour - $27.73per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
