Job Title: Construction Laborer - Lake Placid** **Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Construction Laborer to join our commercial construction team. This role involves supporting skilled tradespeople in building high-quality structures, assisting with various construction tasks, and ensuring job sites are prepared and maintained.

Responsibilities

+ Assist with site preparation, including clearing debris and setting up materials.

+ Load, unload, and transport construction materials to designated areas.

+ Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

+ Support carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople with tasks such as framing, drywall installation, and concrete work.

+ Perform digging, leveling, and grading for foundations and landscaping.

+ Install and maintain temporary structures, such as scaffolding and safety barriers.

+ Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean, hazard-free work environment.

+ Assist in final site cleanup and preparation for inspections.

Essential Skills

+ 6 months to 1 year of experience in commercial, residential, or roofing as a laborer or carpenter's helper.

+ Basic knowledge of construction tools and techniques.

+ Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.

+ Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills.

+ Ability to travel to multiple job sites per day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous experience in construction or manual labor in landscaping, roofing, industrial manufacturing, or maintenance.

+ OSHA 10 certification is preferred.

+ Capability to learn and take direction from supervisors.

Work Environment

This role involves working on outdoor job sites with exposure to various weather conditions. The position requires physically demanding tasks such as standing, bending, and lifting. Field hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional weekday and weekend overtime anticipated. The work setting is collaborative, providing opportunities for skill development.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Placid, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
