    Job Title: Sanitation Technician** **Job Description

     

    The Sanitation Technician is responsible for the comprehensive cleaning and maintenance of the entire plant and its surrounding grounds.

    Responsibilities

    + Sanitize the entire plant and grounds, including the Mill Building, Office Building, Warehouse, Loadout Area, railcars, Feed Shed, B-Mill loadout room, Annex, and Tank area.

    + Clean and inspect the inside of finished product bins and perform MSS responsibilities.

    + Carry out additional tasks as scheduled by the Sanitation/Elevator Manager.

    + Lift up to 50 pounds as required.

    + Sweep and shovel product piles regularly.

    + Climb ladders when necessary.

    + Operate equipment such as tractors or forklifts after training.

    + Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and BRC standards.

    + Ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

    + Clean assigned areas daily, including mill chokes and designated areas for re-work, feed, or trash.

    + Brush down mill equipment and overhead pipes.

    + Keep floors clean with dry mopping and wet mopping as needed.

    + Wet-clean dirty areas using appropriate cleaning chemicals.

    + Assist with changing filters and other janitorial duties.

    + Help with load-out tanks for product loading.

    + Assist with sifter repairs and roll changes on repair days.

    + Help unload freight shipments.

    + Cross-train in other departments for backup roles.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

    + Capable of climbing ladders.

    + Trainable on equipment such as tractors or forklifts.

    + Knowledge and application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

    + Understanding of food safety regulations.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in sanitation of milling equipment.

    + Background in food manufacturing and food safety.

    + Skills in janitorial duties and general labor.

    The work environment is a non-climate controlled setting involving both indoor and outdoor tasks, using milling and food production equipment.

    This is a Contract position based out of Stephens City, VA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.84 - $23.00/hr.
