Job Title: General Laborer 18/hr, 50-60 hours per week!!

Job Description

As a Construction Field / Materials Technician, you will begin your journey by assisting with pile counting during your initial training period. Your role involves performing field inspections and observations for commercial construction projects. You will receive comprehensive training on the equipment needed to excel in your tasks.

Responsibilities

+ Transport equipment, specimens, or documents to field personnel, clients, or other offices and assist in equipment setup.

+ Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities, observations, and results.

+ Observe proof rolls, undercut operations, perform footing inspections with dynamic cone penetrometer, and inspect rebar.

+ Monitor work procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications.

+ Interact with client representatives at project sites.

+ Conduct analysis or calculations to verify accuracy and applicability of testing data.

+ Perform sampling or testing as directed.

+ Provide assistance to other field personnel.

+ Clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.

+ Assist other technicians or professional staff with routine tasks.

+ Progressively increase training and responsibility in work assignments.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to inspect construction sites and perform general labor tasks.

+ Proficiency in concrete, soil, and asphalt testing.

+ Basic computer skills.

+ Pile counting and materials testing expertise.

+ Possession of ACI certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience working outdoors and performing general labor.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

+ Flexibility to bend, kneel, and reach.

+ Willingness to work long hours.

Work Environment

You will spend 90% of your time in the field, typically working 50-70 hours per week. Initially, you will work the first shift from 7am to 7pm, transitioning to night shifts after the pile project, starting at 8PM with 12-hour workdays. The typical work week spans Monday to Saturday, requiring flexibility to switch shifts as needed.

This is a Contract position based out of Savannah, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $8.00 - $18.00/hr.
