Job Title: Forklift Operator** **Job Description

The Forklift Operator works in multiple departments within a distribution center, including case picking, shipping, receiving, returns, loading, order processing, and replenishment. This role involves operating material handling equipment to efficiently move inventory within the facility.

Responsibilities

+ Use material handling equipment to locate and deliver products, supplies, and equipment to designated areas.

+ Assist with staging and loading orders into trucks for customer delivery.

+ Verify the quantity and quality of incoming products from vendors and distribution centers.

+ Use packing list information to collect items for customer orders, including building and wrapping pallets of products.

+ Examine and inspect stock items for wear and defects, and notify management of inventory issues.

+ Return misplaced products to their proper storage areas.

+ Maintain a clean working environment in accordance with company safety policies.

+ Perform inventory control functions as needed.

+ Refer complex, unusual problems to a supervisor.

+ Work under general supervision, exercising some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with RF scanning, picking, packing, forklift operation, pallet jack, and order picking.

+ Proficiency in operating stand-up/reach trucks, cherry pickers, and electric pallet jacks.

+ Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment.

+ Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes.

+ Capability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.

+ 0-2 years of experience in the area of responsibility.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with warehouse distribution, cherry picker, reach truck, clamp truck, and receiving and stocking roles.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large distribution center (500,000 sq ft) with 250 associates across different shifts. This warehouse supplies appliances to customers, direct and commercial orders. While typically located in a comfortable environment, there is regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes. Overtime is available with supervisor approval.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
