    Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

    Job Description

    Assemble mechanical systems and support structures while installing components, units, subassemblies, and assembly casings using rivets, bolts, fasteners, and hand or power tools. Build and assemble air feeds, servos, cutters, and kits according to specifications and bills of material. Tag components and make mechanical adjustments or minor repairs as needed. This is a long-term 1st shift opportunity.

    Responsibilities

    + Follow all safety procedures.

    + Conduct simple, direct quality checks of parts and assemblies, and report any unusual conditions to a supervisor.

    + Work from verbal instructions, drawings, and bills of material.

    + Perform routine production tasks under the close direction of a supervisor, including forming, assembling, testing, and packaging products.

    + Complete repetitive assembly operations following a defined sequence of work.

    + Assemble mechanical components including air feeds, servo-driven assemblies, cutters, and production kits.

    + Utilize various tools and equipment including hand tools, pneumatic tools, assembly fixtures, and basic measuring or test equipment.

    + Monitor work visually and maintain quality charts as required.

    + Follow all quality procedures and instructions.

    + Maintain housekeeping in the work area.

    + Move materials and position work using electric or hand trucks.

    + Follow all company policies, safety rules, and practices.

    + Collaborate effectively with others in a team environment.

    + Ensure work area is clean and neat.

    + Work overtime when required.

    + Maintain good attendance to ensure efficient operation of the department.

    + Perform other related duties as directed by management.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in using tape measures, hand and power tools, and pneumatic tools.

    + Ability to conduct quality inspection and packaging.

    + Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with blueprints is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a machine shop environment with assembly, manual machining, and CNC machinery. The hours are from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Rockford, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
