Flight Test Inspector
Position Overview
The Flight Test Inspector is responsible for performing in‑process, pre‑flight, post‑flight, and final inspections on experimental aircraft. This role ensures all work meets engineering specifications, special inspection requirements, and preventive maintenance standards. A strong focus on safety and precision is essential.
Key Responsibilities
+ Inspect chemical cleaning, plating, paint, and other coatings to confirm compliance with engineering requirements
+ Conduct in‑process and final inspections of manufactured parts and assemblies following engineering specifications and production work instructions
+ Verify that all inspection tools and equipment are properly certified and maintained
+ Document discrepancies and collaborate with Production, Methods, Engineering, and the Material Review Board (MRB) to resolve issues
+ Review inspection documentation and production work instructions for completeness and compliance with quality and engineering standards
+ Support fellow inspectors within their qualified areas
+ Perform First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 and enter results into Net‑Inspect
+ Assist in creating Bubble Drawings for First Article Inspections
+ Help prepare Customer Nonconformance requests in line with contractual procedures
Essential Qualifications
+ Strong experience in inspection, quality control, and quality assurance
+ A&P license required
+ Minimum of 3 years of inspection experience in an MRO or return‑to‑service environment
+ Proficiency with precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and blueprint interpretation
Additional Skills & Responsibilities
+ Conduct initial shakedown inspections of experimental aircraft to verify proper installation of systems and components
+ Confirm that all ground and in‑flight discrepancies are resolved before aircraft release
+ Prepare and maintain accurate records, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, aircraft logs, and flight test work orders

Work Environment
+ Facility located in Wichita, KS; work is performed in a non‑climate‑controlled environment
+ Dress code includes pants or shorts and a shirt; tank tops and cut‑offs are not permitted
+ Must be available for both 1st shift (Mon–Fri, 6:30am–3:00pm) and 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 3:00pm–11:30pm)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $47.00/hr.
