Job Title: Environmental Services Technician** **Job Description

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for the deep cleaning of non-occupied patient rooms, which includes making beds, flipping mattresses, and thoroughly disinfecting the entire room. This role requires handling linens by placing them into large, heavy bags and disposing of them down the chute. Additionally, the technician will clean isolation rooms, following strict safety measures, including wearing a full gown and mask, and thoroughly mopping with a string mop.

Responsibilities

+ Clean non-occupied patient rooms within an average time of 20-30 minutes.

+ Make beds, flip mattresses, and disinfect the entire room.

+ Handle and dispose of linens by placing them into heavy bags and lifting them into the chute.

+ Clean isolation rooms with stringent safety measures, including mopping and full room disinfection.

+ Wear full protective gear, including gown and mask, while cleaning isolation rooms.

Essential Skills

+ Strong attendance record and punctuality.

+ Reliability to work required hours and shifts.

+ Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, nurses, doctors, and the housekeeping team.

+ Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to work with difficult people.

+ Physical capability to lift 50lbs and push 200lbs.

+ At least 6 months of previous hospital or hotel cleaning/housekeeping experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in cleaning, janitorial work, housekeeping, and discharge settings.

Work Environment

This position is set in a hospital environment where technicians often work independently, requiring self-starters. The work schedule is from 11 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with rotating weekends. Adherence to hospital culture is important, including covering tattoos, avoiding facial piercings, and refraining from wearing heavy fragrances.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
