Description

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team in Irvine, California. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient procurement processes and maintaining smooth operations within the printing and publishing industry. As a contract (potential to permanent) position, it offers an excellent opportunity for skill development and long-term career prospects.

Responsibilities:

• Process requisitions and place orders with approved suppliers to meet operational needs.

• Create and manage purchase orders while seeking competitive bids when required.

• Monitor product availability and coordinate expedited deliveries to maintain supply chain efficiency.

• Communicate with vendors to confirm pricing, verify order details, and ensure timely delivery.

• Assist in product evaluations by analyzing samples or reviewing specifications.

• Oversee inventory levels and collaborate with team members to maintain adequate stock.

• Verify the accuracy of received materials against purchase orders and address discrepancies or backorders.

• Prepare routine purchasing reports and contribute to administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• At least 2 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with purchasing systems.

• Strong ability to communicate effectively with vendors and team members.

• Analytical skills to evaluate bids and ensure cost-effective purchasing.

• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of procurement processes and inventory management.

• Detail-oriented approach to verifying order accuracy and resolving issues.
