Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Los Angeles, California. This Contract to permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to essential financial operations within a dynamic and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a passion for accuracy, particularly in accounts payable, receivable, and financial data management.
Responsibilities:
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions while adhering to organizational policies and grant requirements.
• Prepare and post journal entries, assisting with month-end and year-end financial close procedures.
• Ensure the accuracy of general ledger accounts and maintain comprehensive supporting documentation.
• Reconcile bank statements and vendor accounts, addressing discrepancies promptly.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, audit documentation, and budget reports.
• Organize and maintain records of contracts, invoices, and expense receipts in compliance with non-profit standards.
• Work closely with program staff to allocate expenses and verify fund coding for restricted and unrestricted accounts.
• Provide administrative support to the finance team and other departments as needed. Requirements • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience demonstrating attention to detail.
• At least one year of experience in accounting or bookkeeping; experience in the non-profit sector is preferred.
• Knowledge of fund accounting principles and non-profit financial practices, including grant tracking and donor restrictions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or Blackbaud, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative work approach.
