Description
We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team in Chantilly, Virginia. In this contract to permanent position, you will play a vital role in supporting various human resource functions, including employee relations, onboarding, and compliance. This role requires a proactive individual who can excel in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
• Manage employee relations, providing guidance and resolution to workplace issues.
• Conduct termination meetings with professionalism and sensitivity.
• Facilitate new employee orientations and oversee onboarding processes to ensure a seamless transition for employees.
• Administer leave of absence programs and workers’ compensation cases.
• Maintain compliance with employment laws and HR regulations.
• Support HR documentation and ensure accuracy within HRIS systems.
• Handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to create reports, track data, and manage HR-related tasks.
• Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
• Provide ongoing support for HR compliance and operational needs.
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, with a preference for 4-5 years of focused HR generalist work.
• Knowledgeable with benefits administration, payroll, employee relations, onboarding, LOA/ ADA/ FMLA etc.
• Proven ability to manage termination processes effectively and professionally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Can work independently and with a team
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and their functionality.
• Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and HR compliance standards.
