Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations, including managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and maintaining financial records. This position is based in Los Angeles, California, and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization.
Responsibilities:
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions while verifying the accuracy and completeness of documentation.
• Enter and organize financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets, ensuring proper coding and classification.
• Assist in reconciling bank statements, ledgers, and other financial accounts to ensure consistency.
• Prepare routine financial reports and summaries for internal audits and reviews.
• Support payroll-related data entry and record-keeping tasks as required.
• Respond to inquiries from staff and vendors regarding payment statuses and documentation needs.
• Maintain secure and organized filing systems for financial and administrative records in line with company policies.
• Perform general clerical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth departmental operations.
• Contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of financial processes through proactive problem-solving. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent is required; college coursework or an associate’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
• At least one year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar financial clerical role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with experience in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all tasks.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and sound judgment.
• Excellent communication skills paired with a customer service-oriented approach.
• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice processing.
• Effective organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
