    Survey Party Chief

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to support land development and infrastructure projects throughout New York City. This is a field-based role for a skilled survey professional who can lead survey crews, collect accurate field data, and support complex urban projects across multiple disciplines.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Collect, document, and manage field data for survey preparation using modern surveying equipment and software.

    + Lead and supervise survey field crews on daily assignments.

    + Review and interpret reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, and photographs to assess project scope and requirements.

    + Perform field work in support of:

    + Topographic surveys

    + Boundary surveys

    + Utility surveys

    + Construction layout

    + GPS surveying

    + Ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

    + Begin each workday by meeting at the NYC office at 7:00 AM before traveling to job sites.

    Required Qualifications

    + 3–5+ years of experience as a Survey Party/Crew Chief in NYC.

    + 5–10 years of total surveying experience overall.

    + Prior experience supporting large-scale projects is preferred.

    + Proficiency with:

    + AutoCAD Civil 3D

    + Carlson surveying software

    + Hands-on experience using Leica surveying equipment.

    + Strong understanding of urban surveying practices and field operations.

    + Ability to work 100% in the fields

    Preferred Qualifications

    + New York State Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) License, or actively working toward licensure.

    + OSHA 10 certification.

    + Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

    Work Environment & Schedule

    + Position is based in New York City.

    + Projects span all five boroughs.

    + Full-time, field-based role.

    + Eligible for overtime and weekend work, based on project needs.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of New York, NY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $104000.00/yr.
