Architectural Designer

Full-Time | In-Office | Raleigh, NC

A dynamic and collaborative architectural firm is seeking a motivated Architectural Designer to join our growing Raleigh office. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative projects across a wide range of sectors—including commercial, retail, mixed-use, hospitality, science & technology, and multi-family residential—while working alongside a talented team dedicated to design excellence.

Key Responsibilities

+ Contribute to the design and technical development of commercial and mixed-use architectural projects.

+ Prepare and assist with the production of construction documents for multiple project types.

+ Develop creative, functional, and client-focused design solutions aligned with project goals.

+ Collaborate with project teams, clients, consultants, and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and smooth coordination.

+ Assist with project specifications, material detailing, and building envelope system design.

+ Participate in construction administration, ensuring compliance with drawings, codes, and regulatory requirements.

+ Engage in lab planning and equipment documentation for biology, chemistry, cleanrooms, tissue culture labs, and vivariums (as applicable to project assignments).

+ Support project scheduling, quality control, and adherence to budgets.

+ Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative design methodologies.

+ Prepare and deliver compelling design presentations for clients and internal teams.

+ Mentor and collaborate with junior team members in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

+ 0–7 years of professional post-graduate architectural experience (open to early-career through intermediate-level designers).

+ Strong design sensibility paired with technical proficiency and attention to detail.

+ Comfort producing construction documents across a variety of project types.

+ Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp required.

+ Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator preferred.

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work both independently and collaboratively.

+ Experience with mixed-use, commercial, or large-scale retail projects is a plus.

+ Architectural License, LEED accreditation, and/or AIA membership are advantageous but not required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
