Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems and components for complex engineering programs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong analytical skills and experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Responsibilities
+ Design CAD models, complex assemblies, and engineering drawings based on system requirements.
+ Apply expertise in engineering principles and techniques to requirements validation, product development, and product integration.
+ Evaluate designs to ensure they meet customer satisfaction and adhere to engineering principles.
+ Support cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
+ Establish and lead working relationships with customer counterparts, requirement owners, and commercial teammates to promote mission success.
+ Use technical expertise to increase efficiency, accuracy, and quality of engineering deliverables.
+ Perform all other assigned duties.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
+ 2+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
+ Proficiency in CAD Modeling Software (Solidworks).
+ Mechanical design experience, including designing CAD models, complex assemblies, and engineering drawings.
+ Experience in Aerospace or Defense sectors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with 3D modeling and BOM (Bill of Materials).
+ Project management skills.
Work Environment
The candidate will primarily work in an office environment 80% of the time, with 20% of the time spent cross-collaborating with engineering teams. The position offers an opportunity to work in a team environment supporting a local customer in a commercial space flight setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
