Job Title: Software Development Engineer
Job Description
The Digital Services Development Engineer will perform software architecture design, software coding, and verification testing of in-vehicle digital services. This individual is expected to utilize their experience to develop innovative solutions to highly complex technical challenges. Digital services are defined as applications that interface with various cross-domain electronic systems within automobiles and implement software-based features and functions. These software products may interface with external servers and be updated/maintained using over-the-air (OTA) updates. The individual performing this role must have expertise in various areas of the software development lifecycle including software requirement analysis, architectural design, detailed design, and various forms of software verification/validation.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn‑Vehicle Software Development
+ Design, develop, and maintain C++ applications for embedded/real‑time vehicle platforms.
+ Implement digital service features, including:
+ Vehicle‑to‑cloud/external server communication
+ Orchestration components that manage in‑vehicle digital features
+ Integrate with ECUs and various in‑vehicle subsystems.
Software Process & ASPICE
+ Contribute to ASPICE Level 1–6 activities across the lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, verification, and validation.
+ Author and maintain software requirements, architecture, and design documentation.
+ Perform unit testing, verification, and traceability; support test automation where practical.
+ Adhere to coding standards and deliver high‑quality, maintainable code.
Collaboration & Operations
+ Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (platform, security, cloud, validation, and UX).
+ Support the transition of work historically done by Tier‑1 suppliers into internal teams.
+ Troubleshoot in‑market issues and deliver updates quickly without supplier dependency.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement for development speed, efficiency, and cost.
Qualifications
Required
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
+ Strong professional experience developing C++ software (embedded, real‑time, or systems‑level).
+ Experience with structured development processes (e.g., ASPICE, ISO, or comparable).
+ Hands‑on experience with unit testing, verification, and documentation.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with globally distributed engineering teams.

This is a Contract position based out of Raymond, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
