    Job Title: Distribution DesignerJob Description

     

    This position is responsible for applying diversified technical knowledge and practices to broad assignments across multiple fields. The role requires independently evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques and procedures while using judgment when making adaptations and modifications. You will devise new solutions to problems encountered, receiving guidance related largely to overall objectives and critical issues.

    Responsibilities

    + Plan and develop technical projects, applying advanced techniques and modifying theories and practices within the field.

    + Explore subject areas, define scope, and select areas for investigation with minimal supervision.

    + Work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.

    + Provide project management and design services for distribution facilities as required.

    + Act as a single point of contact for projects in the service territory.

    + Make decisions independently regarding engineering complexities and methods.

    + Proactively and reactively communicate project scope until the customer is ultimately satisfied.

    + Be highly knowledgeable and proficient in the design of the Distribution System both in new construction and maintenance activities.

    Essential Skills

    + Distribution design experience (1-5 years).

    + Experience in distribution design/engineering.

    + Bachelor's Degree in a related field or High School Diploma/GED with equivalent work experience.

    + 3 years experience in a combination of Distribution/Utility, customer interactions, and negotiations.

    + Electric Power Technology Certification.

    + Advanced ability with integrity, compliance, and professional skills.

    + Competency in analysis, problem solving, commercial communications, process/project management, and leadership skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Master's Degree in a related field of study.

    + Experience in project management, design, estimating, negotiations, performance tracking, and reporting.

    + Ability to evaluate distribution system capability to serve new load and mitigate potential future impacts.

    + Experience in engineering design and permitting.

    + Ability to work with other departments to establish customer requirements and project costs.

    Work Environment

    This role requires meeting attendance and storm duty requirements, with the ability to work extended hours as necessary. The work environment encourages collaboration across cross-functional teams and requires adherence to company policies and standards. Dress code is business casual.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Juno Beach, FL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
