Electrical Engineering Technician – Night Shift (Full-Time)
4 Days On / 4 Days Off | No Travel | Hands-On Automation Role | Competitive Shift Differential
We’re looking for an Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team on the night shift and support the ongoing reliability and automation of our production operations. In this role, you’ll work side-by-side with a Senior Controls Engineer to troubleshoot line issues, keep equipment running safely and efficiently, and develop new PLC‑based control solutions for automation projects.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, solving electrical problems in real time, and helping drive the next generation of automated equipment.
What You’ll Do
+ Maintain a strong focus on safety, following company procedures and national electrical standards.
+ Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues on production lines to reduce downtime.
+ Modify and create PLC programs as needed to support equipment performance.
+ Assist in designing and implementing control systems that use sensors, motion control, and feedback loops.
+ Interpret electrical schematics, update documentation, and support system improvements.
+ Partner with the Senior Controls Engineer on automation upgrades and equipment optimization.
+ Take on additional tasks as needed within the scope of the department.
What You BringCore Skills
+ Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
+ Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
+ Experience modifying or developing PLC code.
+ Familiarity with Rockwell Automation or similar platforms; Siemens experience is a plus.
+ Experience with RS500, RS5000, Studio5000, and/or FactoryTalk View Studio.
+ Understanding of servo motors and motion control.
Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of industry experience OR Associate degree from a technical program with 2–5 years of professional experience.
+ Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and related electrical standards.
+ Familiarity with 3‑phase power and industrial electrical systems.
Work Environment & Schedule
+ Night shift: 4 days on, 4 days off.
+ 80% manufacturing floor, 20% office.
+ No travel required.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $45.00/hr.
