CAD/CAM Manufacturing Engineer About the Role
Step into a role where engineering precision meets advanced manufacturing. As a CNC Programmer, you’ll design and optimize CNC programs that drive high‑performance machining in a regulated medical device environment. This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy turning complex geometries into efficient toolpaths, improving manufacturing capability, and influencing how products are made from the ground up.
You’ll work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Product Development teams to push machining performance, enhance process reliability, and ensure every component meets the highest quality standards.
What You’ll Do
+ Develop advanced CNC programs using CAD/CAM tools (Mastercam preferred) for multi‑axis machining.
+ Translate engineering models and specifications into precise machine instructions.
+ Optimize machining strategies by analyzing material removal rates, tool life, and cycle times.
+ Run and validate CNC programs through test cuts, prove‑outs, and iterative refinement.
+ Monitor machining operations and adjust parameters to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency.
+ Inspect and verify finished components against engineering requirements and quality standards.
+ Maintain equipment readiness through daily checks, coolant management, and basic troubleshooting.
+ Document processes and production data in accordance with ISO quality management systems.
+ Protect equipment and processes by following safe, standardized machining practices.
Essential Engineering Skills
+ Expertise in CNC programming with strong Mastercam proficiency.
+ Experience with multi‑axis machining and CAD/CAM‑driven toolpath creation.
+ Ability to engineer solutions within a regulated manufacturing environment.
+ Strong understanding of machining processes including feeds, speeds, tooling, and workholding.
+ Hands‑on experience with program prove‑outs and on‑machine debugging.
Additional Qualifications
+ Ability to create detailed work instructions and support operator training.
+ Clear communication skills for collaborating with engineering, production, and external partners.
+ Experience driving cost and process improvements through smarter programming and machining strategies.
+ Strong file management discipline aligned with internal and quality‑system requirements.
+ Willingness to mentor machinists and junior programmers as a technical subject matter expert.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cordova, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
