Quality Control Chemist
Position Summary
The QC Chemist I performs routine analytical testing of bulk chemicals,
pharmaceutical compounds, and environmental monitoring samples. This role
supports laboratory operations by applying fundamental chemistry or
microbiology principles, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring
high-quality data to support manufacturing and quality initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Analytical Testing & Laboratory Work
+ Perform routine analysis of bulk chemicals, pharmaceutical ingredients, finished products, and environmental monitoring samples using established laboratory techniques.
+ Apply foundational knowledge of chemistry or microbiology to ensure accuracy and compliance with test methods and quality standards.
+ Compile and analyze data generated from analytical tests and report results to appropriate internal departments.
+ Maintain a complete, accurate, and well-organized laboratory notebook in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Quality Control & Data Review
+ Conduct peer review of data from less complex analytical procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
+ Support laboratory investigations by assisting in root cause analysis and recommending appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Communication & Workflow Coordination
+ Communicate testing status, timelines, and potential delays to internal clients to support project planning and operational workflows.
Laboratory Maintenance & Safety
+ Support general laboratory housekeeping, including maintaining cleanliness, restocking reagents, and ensuring availability of consumables.
+ Follow established safety protocols and maintain a strong awareness of both personal and laboratory safety requirements.

Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, or a related scientific field required.
+ 2+ years of directly related laboratory or technical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rancho Cordova, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
