• Shop Mechanic - Fleet

    Pike Corporation (Odessa, TX)


    Position Summary: The Shop Mechanic position works at various locations. The position may also be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands.

    Essential Functions:

    + Manage development of equipment in cities and states within region.

    + Knowledge of the mechanics of equipment ranging from as large as a crane to as small as a chain saw.

    + Work safely while performing repairs or maintenance in a garage and in the field in various weather conditions.

    + Troubleshooting in various localities regarding equipment repair, maintenance and deployment.

    + Frequently work around energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others while performing job.

    + Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.

    Other Requirements:

    + Able to perform rigorous physical labor.

    + Requires 1-5 years of experience.

    + Must have or able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

    + Must have own general tools.

    + Must be able to learn or perform work in the following disciplines:

    + Hydraulics

    + Diesel/gas engine – automatic

    + Chassis and suspension

    + Welding/metal fabrication

    + Small tool repair

    + Must know or be able to learn how to use a computer for:

    + Diagnostics

    + Equipment Inventory management

    + Work Orders

    + Certifications of Experiences in any of the following a plus:

    + ASE certification

    + Ford or international certifications

    + Altec/Telelect

    + Hydraulic maintenance

    + Utility or construction jobs

    + Able to work for extended periods throughout various locations, when required.

    + Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.

    + Willing to work over-time when requested.
