    Job Description

The candidate will join the Institute for Translational Medicine & Pharmacology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai as an Associate Researcher I, contributing to cutting-edge research focused on T-cell plasticity, metabolic reprogramming, and immune fate decisions in health and disease.

She/he will play a central role in experimental studies aimed at understanding how metabolic signaling pathways and kinase activity regulate CD4⁺ T-cell stability, and transdifferentiation, with a particular emphasis on Treg, Th17, and hybrid T-cell states.

    Qualifications

+ Bachelors or Masters degree in science or related field required

+ No experience required. One year of research experience preferred.

    Responsibilities

+ Investigating T-cell plasticity through integrated metabolic, signaling, and functional studies using primary murine and human T cells.

+ Studying kinase-driven metabolic reprogramming in immune cells using genetically encoded and small-molecule fluorescent biosensors to monitor dynamic signaling and metabolic states at single-cell resolution.

+ Generating, breeding, and maintaining genetically modified mouse lines, including reporter, fate-mapping, and conditional knockout models, and overseeing the organization and health of the mouse colony.

+ Performing in vivo fate-mapping studies to track lineage stability and transdifferentiation of T-cell subsets under physiological and pathological conditions.

+ Conducting comprehensive immunological and molecular biology assays, including flow cytometry, multicolor immunophenotyping, cell sorting, Western blotting, qPCR, ELISA, and immunofluorescence microscopy.

+ Leading and executing studies in preclinical disease models, including solid organ transplantation models, experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), and additional models of autoimmunity and immune dysregulation.

+ Performing functional immune assays to assess T-cell suppressive capacity, activation, cytokine production, and metabolic fitness.

+ Analyzing and interpreting complex biological datasets in collaboration with computational and chemical biology teams.

+ Assisting with laboratory organization and operations, including experimental planning, reagent management, protocol optimization, and maintenance of shared laboratory resources.

+ This position will provide the Associate Researcher I with rigorous training at the interface of immunology, metabolism, and in vivo disease modeling, offering a strong platform for future advancement toward senior research roles, doctoral studies, or translational immunology careers in academia or industry.
