System One – Roadway Engineer (O&M)

Salary Range: $72,800 to $93,600.

Summary:

This role supports roadway engineering design efforts by collaborating with project managers, senior engineers, and cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include roadway design production, technical analysis, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external agencies. The ideal candidate brings strong roadway design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and working knowledge of PRHTA standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform roadway engineering design tasks including alignments, cross-sections, pavement design, and cost estimates

• Support project managers and senior engineers with design production and project documentation

• Perform engineering calculations and evaluate alternative design solutions

• Prepare technical reports, plans, and contract documents

• Assign, track, and review work completed by junior staff

• Coordinate with internal teams, subconsultants, and government agencies

• Participate in design reviews, meetings, and presentations

• Take ownership of professional growth through feedback and goal setting

• Mentor team members and serve as a positive role model

Skills:

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Sound judgment with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D

• Knowledge of PRHTA design standards and regulations

• Experience reviewing and overseeing junior-level engineering work

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

• Minimum of 4 years of roadway engineering experience

• Familiarity with PRHTA roadway design standards

Preferred Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field

• Professional Engineer (PE) license

• More than 4 years of roadway engineering experience

• Advanced knowledge of PRHTA standards and roadway design practices
