About the role:
As a **Sr. Azure Cloud Security Engineer,** you will play a key role in implementing, managing, and optimizing security solutions across enterprise Azure environments. You will work hands‑on with Azure security technologies—especially Azure Firewall and Azure Sentinel—to strengthen the organization’s cloud security posture and support secure solution delivery. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers, developers, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders to ensure effective protection of critical systems and data.
In this role, you will:
+ Implement, configure, and enhance security controls across Azure environments in alignment with security policies and compliance requirements.
+ Deploy and optimize Azure Firewall solutions to secure cloud network infrastructure and protect data flows.
+ Use Azure Sentinel to monitor, detect, investigate, and respond to security threats in real time.
+ Integrate security controls into existing platforms, applications, and operational processes.
+ Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure security requirements are incorporated into solution design and delivery.
+ Perform risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend practical remediation strategies.
+ Provide guidance on cloud security best practices, emerging threats, and hardening techniques.
+ Support incident response activities, including analysis, containment, and recovery efforts.
+ Maintain and update security documentation such as procedures, standards, and operational guidelines.
+ Assist in evaluating and recommending new security tools and capabilities.
+ Deliver knowledge‑sharing sessions and contribute to ongoing security awareness initiatives.
+ Stay current on cloud security trends, attack methods, and technology advancements.
Work model: Remote

What you need to have:
+ 7–10 years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity or cloud security engineering roles.
+ Strong, practical expertise with Azure Firewall and Azure Sentinel, including deployment, tuning, and operational support.
+ Experience implementing cloud security solutions and controls in enterprise environments.
+ Solid understanding of secure design principles and threat mitigation across cloud platforms.
+ Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret complex security events.
+ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
+ Relevant certifications (e.g., AZ‑500, SC‑200, SC‑300, CCSP, Security+).
These will help you stand out:
+ Experience in the Payer/Health Plan domain, including knowledge of compliance, risk factors, and industry‑specific security patterns.
+ Hands‑on experience integrating cloud security solutions at scale in distributed enterprise environments.
+ Ability to translate high‑level security requirements into actionable engineering tasks and configurations.
**Salary and Other Compensation** :
Applications will be accepted until February 15, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $ 110,000 - $ 130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
