Position Overview
We are seeking a committed and highly qualified Special Education Teacher to support kindergarten through 2nd grade students in a semi self-contained classroom setting. This role is ideal for educators with a Mild/Moderate (M/M) certification who excel in providing individualized instruction, supporting diverse learning needs, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. The teacher will work under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator to implement IEPs, monitor progress, and create a structured, supportive environment where students can grow academically, socially, and behaviorally.
Key Responsibilities
+ Deliver specialized instruction to K–2 students in a semi self-contained classroom
+ Develop, write, and implement IEPs aligned with student goals
+ Conduct consistent progress monitoring and maintain detailed documentation
+ Collaborate with general education staff, paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
+ Provide both small-group and 1:1 instructional support
+ Establish and maintain routines that support academic and behavioral success
+ Lead and support classroom paraprofessionals
+ Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
+ Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development activities
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (Master’s preferred)
+ Valid state Special Education Mild/Moderate certification or equivalent
+ One year of teaching experience preferred
+ Acceptable certification types include:
+ Standard Special Teaching
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred
+ Ability to meet all professional standards of practice
+ CPR certification, TB screening, and Health Certificate as required
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age

+ Caseload: To be determined
+ Support: Dedicated paraprofessional(s) assigned to classroom
Modality
This is a full-time Special Education teaching position for the 2025–2026 school year.
