We are seeking a Director, Talent Programs to serve as the strategic partner leading critical talent programs for LinkedIn’s COO organization, and to lead the Functional Talent Development team that supports this critical business. This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of talent strategy, performance enablement, leadership development, and large-scale change management.
This leader will be accountable for the following:
1. Driving the design and activation of the Unlocking Growth talent strategy for COO, which sets new expectations for leadership, performance, and development across the organization.
2. Leading and developing the Functional Talent Development team, ensuring operational excellence, cohesive strategy execution, and high-quality delivery across all talent development programs and initiatives.
3. Partnering with Functional HRBPs to deliver critical talent strategies that align with key business priorities.
Success in this role requires a leader who can set vision, mobilize teams, operate with discipline, and partner closely with senior HR and business leaders to deliver meaningful business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Talent Development Leadership
+ Lead, inspire, and develop the COO Functional Talent Development team, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to ensure excellence in execution and cohesion across global workstreams.
+ Build team capability, aligning roles, priorities, and workflows to support both near-term execution and the long-term Unlocking Growth talent strategy.
+ Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Functional TD team.
Strategic Talent Leadership
+ Lead the continued design, evolution, and execution of the Unlocking Growth talent strategy for the COO organization, ensuring alignment to business priorities and clarity of success measures.
+ Partner closely with the COO LT, HRBP teams, and cross-functional partners to identify priority talent needs and design solutions that accelerate performance and operational impact.
+ Serve as a strategic advisor on leadership expectations, performance practices, and talent programs—challenging thinking, identifying root causes, and shaping decisions through data and insight.
Performance Management & Leadership Expectations
+ Lead the build and implementation of the new performance management framework for the COO organization, ensuring integration into leadership routines and talent practices.
+ Partner on the activation of leadership expectations, ensuring they are embedded into performance, development, succession, and daily leader behaviors.
+ Once new initiatives are hardened, transfer ongoing ROB responsibilities to identified HRBP owners.
Change Leadership & Transformation
+ Lead the change management strategy needed to help leaders and teams adopt new talent practices across the COO organization.
+ Manage cross-functional workstreams, ensuring alignment, clarity of roles, and consistency in messaging, tooling, and implementation.
+ Monitor adoption, trends, gather feedback, and success measures to ensure the changes take hold and deliver the intended impact.
Execution Excellence
+ Oversee end-to-end execution of talent development initiatives, ensuring disciplined planning, resourcing, governance, and delivery.
+ Work closely with regional TD partners and COEs to drive cohesive global execution and effective regional activation.
+ Facilitate learning and leadership team effectiveness sessions for COO org and provide HRBP “train the facilitator" sessions, modeling excellence in facilitation and learning design for scale.
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Talent Management, or related field; or equivalent experience.
+ 12+ years of experience in Talent Development, Talent Management, Organizational Development, or HR Consulting.
+ 5+ years of program management with increasing responsibility (end-to-end program ownership + continuous improvement).
+ 5+ years leading people and teams.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s degree in HR, OD, Talent Management, or related field.
+ Ability to lead functional Talent Development teams and partner with senior HRBPs/Business Leaders.
+ Track record of driving performance management or talent strategy transformations.
+ Exceptional communication and influence skills at all altitudes, including the ability to translate insights into action.
+ Ability to apply design thinking and human-centered design principles.
+ Strong project and change management experience across complex, global teams.
+ Certified coach or equivalent leadership development experience.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The pay range for this role is $172,000-$280,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
