• Application Architect - Cloud Data Modernization

    CTG is seeking an Application Architect – Cloud Data Modernization for our client.

     

    **Location:** Houston, TX

    **Duration:** 10 months

    Overview:

    We are looking for a hands-on Application Architect to lead cloud-based data modernization and transformation initiatives. This role focuses on large-scale data migrations, ETL architecture, and modern data platforms, working closely with technical leads and client stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Architect and lead data modernization and cloud migration solutions at scale

    + Design and support complex ETL and data transformation workflows

    + Provide architectural guidance for like-for-like and transformational data migrations, including:

    + Oracle to PostgreSQL / SQL Server (as-a-Service)

    + Relational to NoSQL

    + Data Warehouse to Data Lake

    + Translate business requirements into technical architecture and solution designs

    + Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts for complex data challenges

    + Ensure scalable, highly available solutions using cloud-native technologies

    + Provide quality and architectural oversight within agile delivery teams

    Required Skills:

    + Application / Quality Architect with strong data focus

    + Data modernization and cloud data architecture experience

    + Databricks

    + BI Subject Matter Expertise

    + Strong ETL background

    Technical Skills:

    + RDBMS: Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Amazon RDS

    + Data Lake technologies

    + ETL tools: Informatica PowerCenter, IBM DataStage, SSIS, Oracle Data Integrator

    + XML, JSON, NoSQL

    + Python

    Experience:

    + Proven experience leading enterprise data modernization or migration initiatives

    + Strong hands-on architecture and solution design background

    + Agile delivery experience

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

     

    Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
