    Purpose

     

    Supports the execution of analytical and consulting engagements by assisting Project Managers and senior staff in delivering high-quality financial, economic, and utility rate consulting services to public sector clients. This role contributes to project coordination, financial analysis, documentation, and client support while developing project management, consulting, and client-facing skills

    Responsibilities

    Leadership and Direction

    + Receives general guidance from Project Managers and senior consultants regarding project objectives, scope, priorities, and deliverables.

    + Applies working knowledge of financial and economic consulting principles to assigned tasks and project components.

    + Demonstrates initiative in problem-solving while seeking direction on complex or novel assignments.

    + Supports quality assurance efforts by adhering to established methodologies, standards, and review processes.

    At the Operational and Company Level

    + Assists with proposal development, marketing materials, and business development activities under the direction of senior staff.

    + Supports client relationship management by preparing materials, participating in meetings, and ensuring timely responses to client needs.

    + Coordinates project logistics, schedules, and internal communications to support effective project delivery.

    + Assists in public engagement efforts, including preparing presentation materials and supporting meetings with public sector clients and stakeholders.

    Do the Work

    + Supports project execution through data collection, analysis, evaluation, documentation, and preparation of client-ready deliverables.

    + Performs financial, economic, and quantitative analyses under supervision, including spreadsheet modeling and data interpretation.

    + Assists with long-term financial planning, cost of service studies, cost allocation analyses, fiscal policy reviews, and feasibility analyses.

    + Supports development and maintenance of project budgets, schedules, and work plans.

    + Tracks project progress and assists in identifying potential scope, schedule, or budget issues.

    + Collaborates with analysts and senior staff to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of work products.

    + Supports multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.

    + Performs other duties as required.

    + Data analysis and interpretation skills.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, or public administration, engineering, mathematics, statistics or other quantitative fields.

    + Graduate degree preferred.

    + Three or more (3+) years of related professional experience providing utility rate consulting services to the public sector or working in a similar capacity in a public sector organization.

    + Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

    + Must have a valid state driver’s license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle check.

    Salary and eligible variable compensation (if any) commensurate with experience. Range $95,000 - $120,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

    Physical Demands and Working Environment

    + Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.

    + Mobility around an office environment.

    + Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    + Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.

    + Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.

    + Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.

    + Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
