Corp Safety Program Consultant I: $54,400 - $68,000
Corp Safety Program Consultant II: $66,600 - $83,200
Sr Corp Safety Program Consultant: $84,500 - $112,600
Lead Corp Safety Program Consultant: $99,500 - $132,600
*Scheduled Work Hours:* Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Other hours as required)
*Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: *
The Corporate Safety Program Consultant role involves providing safety and health expertise and knowledge for the organization to promote a safe and healthy workplace. This involves developing, implementing, and managing safety and health programs, various initiatives and projects to achieve departmental and organizational safety and health goals and objectives.
In this role, the Corporate Safety Program Consultant will collaborate with other employees at all levels of the organization, as well as external partners and stakeholders to develop, plan, and execute various initiatives and projects. They will ensure that the results of their work are high-quality, on time, and within budget. They will provide training and guidance to the organization and foster a positive and productive work environment. They will conduct risk assessments, audits and inspections, develop technical reports, and work independently to provide health and safety support. They will communicate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and build productive relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Program Development: Lead cross-functional teams to create, implement, and manage safety and health programs, projects, and initiatives.
• Compliance: Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure adherence and effectiveness, as well as to maintain compliance to any local, state, and federal safety and health regulations.
• Risk Management: Conduct qualitative, quantitative, and dynamic risk assessments and analyze data to understand safety and health risks and performance to allow for informed decision making, business continuity, and proactive management of threats to people, assets and operations.
• Incident Response: Respond to incidents to provide on-scene guidance and support, gather evidence, conduct investigations, perform causal analysis, develop action plans, and create reports. Share learning from incidents internally, and as appropriate or required, externally.
• Culture: Promote an organization-wide, proactive culture of continual improvement of employee safety and health. Provide transparency of the safety department by reporting on various safety concerns, analytic results and improvement efforts in a variety of settings at all levels of the organization
• Liaison: Act as a key communicator and coordinator between the safety department and internal and external stakeholders, developing relationships to execute goals and objectives.
Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to providing safety support to various work groups and responding to emergent and urgent situations.
*Education and Experience Requirements:*
• Minimum five years of experience in occupational health and safety role or related field is preferred.
• Bachelor degree in occupational safety, health or other related discipline is required. Master’s degree in occupational safety, health or other related disciplines preferred.
• Possess a strong, working knowledge of regulatory safety requirements and safety-related consensus standards.
• Experience and working knowledge in the areas of Energy-Based Safety and/or Human and Organizational Performance is preferred.
• Experience developing and delivering training on a variety of safety-related topics to various audiences at all levels of the organization.
• Experience in the electric utility industry is strongly preferred.

• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues and challenges that may arise during the project or program cycle, and to implement solutions that meet the needs and expectations of the organization.
• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of hazard recognition, evaluation, and control, with a proven ability to implement effective mitigation strategies to enhance workplace safety.
• Possesses comprehensive knowledge in identifying potential safety risks and implementing effective strategies to mitigate these risks.
• Demonstrates proficiency in project management, with the ability to effectively plan, coordinate, and execute projects within set timelines and budget constraints, ensuring successful project outcomes.
• Exhibits exceptional time management, organizational and planning skills with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure timely completion of initiatives and projects.
• Ability to identify safety compliance and process deficiencies and recommend appropriate corrective action guidance.
• Technical expertise in 1910 and 1926 OSHA regulations with emphasis on 1910.269.
• Technical expertise in various software, tools and technologies relevant to the functions of the job such as Microsoft Office, project management software, safety and health management software.
*Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:*
• Professional safety certification preferred (e.g.: Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Human Performance Practitioner).

*Working Conditions:*Primarily office environment with occasional field work. Travel across the company property is required, including some overnight and weekend travel as necessary (approximately 10% travel). The position may require work beyond normal working hours depending on emergency situations, workload, project deadlines, and internal customer needs. Must have a satisfactory work record including good attendance, a positive attitude, and strong working relationships with all levels of employees including frontline workers and all levels of management.
