_Hybrid 3 to 4 days a week onsite in Fort Worth, TX_
The Technical Coach elevates engineering capabilities, practices, and architecture to enable faster and more reliable software delivery with a focus on business outcomes. The coach applies advanced systems analysis, software design, and development expertise while collaborating with product coaching to align technical approaches with value streams and measurable results.
_Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance._
Rate: $120.00 to $140.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
+ Apply systems analysis techniques and consult with users to determine software or system functional specifications.
+ Coach developers to design, develop, document, analyze, create, test, or modify systems or programs, including prototypes, based on user or system design specifications.
+ Assess current technical practices and identify specific improvement opportunities.
+ Coach developers, architects, and engineering leaders on XP practices, clean code principles, and refactoring techniques.
+ Help teams implement technical and lean metrics such as cycle time, throughput, and forecasting.
+ Guide teams in adopting improved practices through systems thinking and continuous learning within the existing environment.
+ Collaborate with product coaches to align technical approaches with product objectives, value streams, and business outcomes.
+ Facilitate Value Stream Mapping, Story Mapping, and Discovery Trees to improve flow, learning, and prioritization.
+ Provide regular progress updates and evidence of impact to the transformation leadership.
+ Tailor coaching to meet teams at their current capability level and maturity.
+ Drive measurable improvements in delivery speed, predictability, quality, reliability, architecture, and technical debt reduction.
Experience Requirements:

+ Expertise in programming fundamentals and software craftsmanship.
+ Proficiency in identifying code smells and applying refactoring for maintainability and quality.
+ Experience with testing strategies, feedback loops, and the test pyramid.
+ Hands-on practice with XP methods including pair programming, TDD, and continuous integration.
+ Knowledge of clean code principles and simple design.
+ Experience implementing lean metrics and forecasting for predictable delivery.
+ Ability to facilitate Value Stream Mapping, Story Mapping, and Discovery Trees.
+ Systems thinking applied to optimize end-to-end outcomes.
+ Familiarity with architecture patterns and system design.
+ Experience with test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
+ Skill in managing technical debt and improving software quality.

_Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range._
