Job Responsibilities:

The Junior Software Engineer will work remotely with occasional travel to Fairfax, VA. This role involves designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging application software. The candidate will participate in software research and collaborate with team members to plan, design, develop, and test software solutions. Responsibilities include analyzing user needs, evaluating system capabilities, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with software standards. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and team player who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment under general supervision of senior staff.

Skills and Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

• Experience with Java software development

• Experience with basic database queries and PL/SQL programming

• Secret Clearance

• Strong desire to learn and grow in areas such as AWS cloud technologies and integrating Generative AI into software development

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Experience with front-end user interface design and development

• Experience working with application servers (e.g., Apache Tomcat)

• Experience with tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, Git

• Knowledge of Oracle databases

• Experience using IDEs (e.g., Eclipse)

• Exposure to agile or iterative development environments
