    Job Description Summary

    Job Description

    Working at our Clearwater Location

Clearwater is a provider of engineering, circuit card assembly, OEM Avionics, and MRO services to commercial and military customers. Products and technologies here are diverse and highly sophisticated. Your work will contribute to systems that manage the performance of Boeing 737 and 787 aircraft as well as F-18s, F-35s, Harriers, and Apaches. Not only will you work in a facility that has been awarded OSHAS’s highest safety rating, but you’ll be part of a diverse team of employees working together to impact the future of flight for generations.

    Role Overview

The EHS Leader is responsible for safeguarding people, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement across a manufacturing and the fixed facility. This role blends day-to-day operational support with strategic leadership —building talent, elevating EHS culture, and delivering measurable outcomes in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This involves proactive risk reduction, enforcing rigorous standards, and strong partnerships with cross-functional teams.

    Roles and Responsibilities

+ Provide day-to-day EHS support at manufacturing sites and fixed facilities (e.g., service shops, O&M sites), ensuring compliance, risk reduction, and operational readiness.

+ Lead and develop the team, including hiring, staffing, coaching, performance development, and succession planning; foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

+ Translate EHS policy and strategy into executable plans; apply deep technical knowledge and analytical thinking to solve complex problems and prevent recurrence.

+ Integrate best practices across operations; understand how EHS interfaces with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and supply chain; stay aware of market/competitor differentiators.

+ Exercise sound judgment to propose and implement solutions beyond set parameters for complex processes with technical variety and interdependent production cycles; use multiple internal and select external sources to inform decisions.

+ Serve as a trusted resource and mentor for less-experienced colleagues; lead small projects and kaizen events with clear charters, risk profiles, and resource plans.

+ Communicate clearly and influence without authority to align teams; explain technical information to diverse audiences; set performance expectations; handle sensitive issues discreetly.

+ Drive measurable results through audits, incident investigations, corrective/preventive actions, and training; ensure timely closure and durable effectiveness of actions.

+ Monitor and report leading and lagging indicators; identify trends and prioritize actions that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

    Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of EHS experience)

+ Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience

    Preferred Qualifications

+ Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to technicians, engineers, and leadership.

+ Experience improving KPIs for TRIR and DART rate, audit completion and corrective action closure, risk assessment coverage, training completion and effectiveness, and environmental compliance.

+ Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems using data, root cause methods, and structured problem solving.

+ Ability to document, plan, promote, and execute programs; skilled at change management and stakeholder engagement.

+ Established project management skills, including prioritization, risk management, and on-time delivery of commitments.
