    ROLE: FOX 5 San Diego/KUSI News duopoly is seeking a Reporter/Multi-Media Journalist for our broadcast and digital platforms. The successful applicant will have a proven ability to enterprise stories that connect with audiences on broadcast, website and social. The position requires the MMJ to shoot, write and edit vosots and packages.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Accurate reporting of news stories

    + Attends editorial meetings and regularly pitches original story ideas

    + Develops community contacts and a network of news sources

    + Sets up, write, shoot and edit packages to meet deadlines daily

    + Collaborates with photographer on live shots as needed

    + Contributes to our digital platforms by writing and editing stories

    + Ensures all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality

    + Attends station partnerships in community

    + Perform other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    + B.A. or B.S. Degree preferably in journalism, communication or equivalent related experience

    + Prefer 3-5 years TV news reporting in a medium to large market

    REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Must interact positively and productively with colleagues and the public

    + Upholds station values and models professionalism on and off the air

    + Exceptional writing, grammar and spelling

    + Excellent communication skills with ability to ad-lib when required

    + Strong on-air presentation – must be credible, personable and engaging

    + Adobe Premiere experience and video camera/news photography skills

    + Ability to carry 25-30 pounds of equipment

    + Flexible with schedule and willing to work additional hours or days or different shifts and holidays as required by news content

    + Strong attention to detail

    + Must be able to accept constructive direction and feedback

     

    Compensation – Starting at $31/hr commensurate with experience and skill level.
