    The Program Manager of Internships and Workforce Engagement administers and develops the Hospital internship program as part of a comprehensive effort to prepare students for career placement and success. The Program Manager enhances, facilitates, and promotes meaningful internships and enriching career-related experiences for the Merrimack Valley youth. The Program Manager has a strong knowledge of the community, collaborates with students, hospital leadership, and other stakeholders to create and sustain a robust and diverse range of internship programs and external partnerships that support the hospitals mission and career development requirements.

     

    JOB SUMMARY: This position is funded by Atrius Health Equity Foundation to support the development of youth in the community. The Program Manager will focus on Program Management, Mentorship Support, Partnership and Relationship Management and Strategic Planning.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Management: • Manage and oversee internship programs to ensure they align with the organization’s strategic goals and workforce development needs ? Work closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and leadership across the organization to understand their business needs; and secure opportunities around those needs. ? Educate leadership on available internship opportunities and how they can enhance workforce development. • Develop enrichment programming for interns and resources to support both interns and their supervisors. • Manage the onboarding and off-boarding process for interns. • Coordinate essential job training along with upskill advancement training throughout their internship period. • Develop tools such as curriculum, training materials and resources to support interns and supervisors. • Maintain timely and effective communication with all stakeholders.

     

    Mentorship Support: • Provide guidance and support for intern supervisors. • Assist interns in building professional networks by connecting them with mentors, coaches, and industry leaders to support their career growth. ? Monitor and regularly meet with interns to assess progress and address challenges or concerns. ? Support interns in navigating healthcare career pathways by offering mentorship, educational resources, and connections to training and employment opportunities • Meet frequently with supervisors to provide support and receive feedback on program initiatives and intern performance. Partnership and Relationship Management:

     

    • Build relationships and social capital with hospital teams to create and sustain a variety of robust youth internship experiences. • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with grant committee, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to identify appropriate candidates to meet the agency’s internship talent needs. • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to ensure they are informed of policies, updates and stay abreast of best practices. ? Develop communication strategies to ensure grant committee and organizational leadership remain current and clear in their understanding of internship requirements and criteria

     

    Strategic Planning: • Effectively monitor program goals. • Create metrics to measure outcomes, success and areas for enhancement. ? Research other internship programs to identify new ideas and approaches that may be implemented • Provide guidance for the grant committee and LGH organization on positioning as a leader in the community for youth engagement and career development

     

    EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE: Required: • Advanced organizational skills, attention to detail • 2 years of project or program management experience • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Experience working with students • Strong proficiency in Microsoft suite applications • Knowledge of the health care/hospital industry • High School diploma or equivalent

     

    Preferred: • Bachelor’s degree • Bi-lingual/ bi-cultural candidates preferred • Knowledge of or connection to the local community
