General Requirements:

Individual will teach 9 hours per long semester, engage in research, and support the college through service. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to publish in peer reviewed journals.

Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:

The newly formed Department of Analytics, Information Systems, and Supply Chain at Sam Houston State University ( SHSU ) is seeking applicants for a tenure track position in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence for Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.

Duties will include teaching, both face-to-face and online, undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of business analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), or related fields. Duties also include conducting research and publishing in scholarly journals, and providing services to the department, college, university, and appropriate national organizations. We seek individuals who are excellent teachers that can bring experience-based credibility to the classroom while also advancing the research reputation of the department and the college. Preferred candidates should be qualified as Scholarly Academic (SA) under AACSB standards (as defined by SHSU’s College of Business Administration) and will maintain that qualification.

Educational Requirements for the Position (Faculty Positions Only):

PhD in a business-related field or discipline preferred, but other highly qualified candidates will be considered. ABD will be considered.

Experience Required for the Position (Faculty Positions Only):

Evidence of teaching effectiveness in business analytics, artificial intelligence, and related courses at the university level is required. Experience with both in-person and online teaching is desired. Industry experience is a plus.
