    In order to qualify for the apprentice program, students should:

    + May be entering their junior or senior year at an accredited college or university.

    + Be majoring in engineering, IT, computer programming, mechanics, or a broadcast-related field.

    + Have good computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities and knowledge of current events. A 3.0 GPA or above is recommended.

    + Interview with WNYT/WNYA.

    + Be a Massachusetts resident OR a non-resident student currently attending an accredited college or university in the Commonwealth.

    Pay rate: $15.50/hour

     

    This opportunity provides interns with the chance to witness and experience first-hand the operational and technical procedures of a television station.

    The Apprentice can expect to do:

    + Master Control operations

    + General maintenance and IT work

    + Other engineering duties as assigned

     

    When extending an offer, the company considers a variety of factors such as (but not limited to) the candidate's work experience, education/training & key skills as well as internal peer equity and other market and business considerations.

     

    The pay for this position will be $15.50 per hour.
