    The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of general neurosurgery, stereotactic and functional neurosurgery, and spine surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Preferred applicant must also be ABNS Board Eligible or Certified.

     

    Teaching responsibilities may include resident/fellow and medical/graduate student education in the operating room, clinic, and lab.

     

    Clinical responsibilities may include running and expanding the clinical neurosurgery service at the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center, including supporting general neurosurgery and functional neurosurgery.

     

    Research or scholarship responsibilities may include obtaining NIH and VA funding to support an independent research laboratory based at the PVAMC.

     

    Applicant must have completed a CAST approved stereotactic and functional fellowship.
