    Come join our team in our Hematology and Medical Oncology Clinic. Our clinic works closely with psych-oncology services, therapy, radiation oncology, inpatient units, research, infusion departments, providers, navigation, lab, and radiology. Join a team that focuses on exceptional patient care and utilizes advances in technology and healthcare to provide for the best patient experience while allowing them to get care closer to home.

     

    Schedule would consist of 8 or 9 hour day shifts. Shifts are 7:30AM- 4:00PM or 7:30 AM -5:00PM.

     

    Required Education: BSN or ADN

     

    Required Licensure: ND, SD and MN (SD and MN can be obtained within your first 3 months)

    Job Summary

    Answers patient inquiries over the telephone, assessing the severity of the patient's symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms. Guides the patient to the appropriate level of care; schedules patient appointments over the phone with appropriate healthcare providers/facilities/physicians. Documents information provided to patients during triage in health record systems; records patients health conditions for follow-up patient care. Maintains and develops triage protocols; ensures patients' healthcare information is updated on time. Role does answer inquiries through multiple variations of technology, depending on department. Educate patients based on calls that come in.

    Qualifications

    Graduate from an accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.

     

    One year of healthcare experience preferred.

     

    Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being served reside. Within first 30 days of employment, all requirements to obtain license needed for role is completed. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
