    Description

    SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

    Responsible for performing the duties of an adjunct faculty member including classroom instruction, student advisement and evaluation and participation in academic practices that ensure positive student outcomes focused on student success.

    OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY

    The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.

    INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS

    Accepts responsibility for the timely preparation of student outcomes assessment efforts of the faculty in planning, collecting data, and reporting dates as they relate to course outcomes, program outcomes, general education outcomes, and developmental program outcomes. Actively participates in setting annual division goals and objectives, completing OIR reporting forms, collecting data, analyzing data, and preparing a report using guidelines established by OIR.

     

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities

     

    + Supports the mission and goals of the college.

    + Complies with accreditation policies and procedures as applicable.

    + Contributes to the development, implementation and revisions of curriculum within the scope of the philosophy and objectives of the Program in area of specialization.

    + Develops and teaches specified course content.

    + Prepares, administers, grades and analyzes examinations and student performance.

    + Reviews, evaluates and requisitions textbooks and related instructional materials in accordance with the department and college procedures.

    + Maintains and reviews student evaluations and grades with students and faculty.

    + Promotes positive interpersonal relationships with all persons associated with the program.

    + Assists in guidance and advisement of students.

    SKILLS/ABILITIES

    + Current New Jersey Diagnostic Radiography License.

    + Proof of Radiography ARRT credential.

    + Perform office skills including proficiencies with the Internet, Email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

    + Ability to plan, strategize, and coordinate effectively.

    + Competent in communication and leadership skills.

    + Accountable, dependable, and trustworthy.

As teaching needs arise, these applications will be reviewed for possible interviews*** The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department.     Minimum Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

    Associates degree in any discipline.

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    + Certified American Registry of Radiologic Technologist: Radiography.

    + Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience as Diagnostic Radiographer.

    Technology Tools, Blackboard LMS, and Webex Videoconferencing

     

    In order to enable Adjunct Faculty to be effective and to meet the requirements associated with relevant teaching conditions , RCBC has outlined 1) appropriate Technology Tools, 2) a minimum level of proficiency with the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) and remote delivery, and 3) Webex Videoconferencing resources.

     

    1) Technology Tools

     

    Adjunct Faculty should have access to a computer less than 6 years old and equipped with a webcam and microphone, as well as reliable high-speed internet service.

     

    2) Blackboard LMS

     

    Adjunct Faculty must participate in Blackboard training with a verified level of proficiency in the following two self-paced courses A) ‘Getting Started with Blackboard Learn’ and B) ‘Learn Teaching Essentials for Original’.

     

    3) Webex Videoconferencing

     

    Webex is RCBC’s accepted videoconferencing platform and allows for real-time instructor-student interactions and breakout sessions, for example. RCBC has created two interactive workshops, a maximum of one-and-a-half hours long, to address topics of interest to both beginner and advanced users. Recorded sessions will be continuously available for faculty viewing.
