Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking an OR First Assist who will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Surgical Services department.

Responsibilities:

+ Utilizing principles of aseptic technique to create and maintain a sterile field.

+ Planning and providing equipment and supplies based on patient and physician needs.

+ Demonstrating competency in assisting the surgeon within the unit scope of care.

+ Promoting cost containment while delivering quality patient care in the operating room.

+ Participating in on-call assignments and demonstrating flexibility to cover staffing needs.

+ Performing other functions within Surgical Services to support departmental operations.

+ Providing a safe perioperative environment for surgical patients.

+ Serving as a professional member of the OR team.

+ Pursuing professional growth through continuing education and in-services.

+ Adhering to hospital policies and procedures, and supporting the hospital's mission.

+ Exercising sound judgment and decision-making skills on behalf of patients, self, and peers.

What qualifications you will need:

+ Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Certified Surgical First Assistant Program

+ Certified Surgical First Assistant Licensure

+ Minimum of 3 years' operating room scrubbing experience

+ Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or CPR through American Red Cross
