    Timber Products Michigan, located in Munising, MI, has an opening for a Plant Engineer. The position requires effective interpersonal and leadership skills, responsibility for the oversight and development/implementation of manufacturing improvement projects ensuring timely completion within specified budget, seeking bids for facility improvements, ordering parts and coordinating planned projects during preventive maintenance shutdowns, providing guidance to maintenance department with engineering concerns, management of heavy equipment garage and boiler facility to include training and supervision of assigned employees within those departments.

     

    The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in Engineering and possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. The candidates must have good listening and communication skills, a proven track record in leading people, develop & implement policies and procedures to improve operations within a safe working environment.

     

    Must possess well-developed problem-solving techniques, project management skills, and can seek out new methods and principles to incorporate them within the organization. Has the ability to plan, organize, and schedule programs to meet goals and objectives in reducing costs through processes and efficiencies. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Excel and Word required. Familiarization with computerized maintenance management systems processes and utilization is preferred.
