    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    The William States Lee College of Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites exceptionally qualified candidates for a 12-month non-tenure track faculty position at Teaching Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor of Practice/Lecturer ranks in Civil Engineering Technology and Construction Management fields, with an anticipated start date of January 2025. The Engineering Technology and Construction Management Department is seeking teaching professionals who are interested in a full-time academic career in teaching and service in construction means & methods, estimating, scheduling, project controls, construction administration, and Construction Engineering topics.

     

    Candidates with diverse industry and practical experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Teaching, Advising, Curriculum and Instructional Development – Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to teaching may include but are not limited to: subject matter competence, course design, course presentation, advising and consultation, curriculum and instructional development, and grading student work.

     

    Outreach, Creative, and Other Professional Activities – This position will serve the Department in outreach and recruiting through student organizations, competitions and connections with Industry.

     

    Service to University, the Public, and the Profession – All faculty are expected to engage in a program of service appropriate to their discipline. Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to service may include but are not limited to: service to the administration and governance of the University, public service, and service to the profession.

    Minimum Experience / Education:

    UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.

    Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

    Candidates must have a Master of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering management, construction management or science, or related degree. Candidates with industry, engineering design or project management experience are desired.

     

    Preferred candidates will have professional work experience in an engineering or construction position. Preferred qualifications include professional engineering licensure (or EI), an earned doctorate, prior teaching experience, and/or other relevant certifications and licenses.
