Queen’s has been leveraging the electronic health record (EHR) system powered by Epic since 2006. CARE*Link, as the EHR is known at Queen’s, is a system that requires regular maintenance and upgrades in addition to the add-on modules for improved and enhanced performance providing increased utility for end-users and patients through the patient portal.
The demand for a qualified IT Analyst to join the CARE*Link team has only been accelerated by the growth and expansion of the system and we are looking for an analyst to join our team.
The Opportunity
As an Information Technology (Info Tech) Analyst, you will play a critical role in building, assessing, troubleshooting and fine-tuning CARE*Link.
You will become an expert on the Queen’s existing build and modules currently in use. Participate on projects and initiatives to implement new modules and technology within CARE*Link and throughout The Queen's Health Systems. In addition, be a part of a highly interconnected team of analysts ensuring end-users have the tools they need to make and document medical decisions leading to better patient outcomes and safety.

What you will work on
+ Analyze, build, test and provide go-live support for new functionality
+ Participate in operational user group meetings to discuss optimization of CARE*Link
+ Provide 24/7 on-call assistance to end-users (rotation)
+ Participation on projects to implement new tools, modules and technology
**Responsibilities** (Job Description begins)
As a Grand Central/Prelude Analyst Sr., your role involves maintaining patient flow within the hospital and between facilities by using the EPIC Grand Central tools. This includes detailed reporting and predictive analytics to optimize capacity and collaborate on flow strategies within the capacity command center. Key areas of focus include bed planning, tracking the completion of environmental services and managing transport tasks to ensure timely patient discharge. Additionally, you would leverage Prelude experience to assist with registration, Mychart, RTE, workqueues, reporting, dashboards and identifying areas for improvement to enhance with patient engagement and revenue opportunities. Project Management experience to facilitate projects and streamline processes for efficiency.
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supports complex, high-risk application/systems in assigned area(s).
• Provides technical expertise and oversight of information systems of moderate to high complexity in designated area(s).
• Provides technical expertise and guidance in formulation of procedures and best practice for users, setting priorities and technical direction.
• Supervises and directs work of assigned staff.
• Leads information system planning, both short and long term in assigned area.
• Monitors activities to ensure coordination and management of projects and work assignments meet established dates and timelines.
• Works with PMO to coordinate the implementation of related systems/applications when needed.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Continuous: seeing, speaking, repetitive arm/hand motions, sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Frequent: standing, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, hearing.
• Occasional: stooping/bending, carrying usual weight of 12 pounds, reaching above shoulder level.
• Operates computer equipment and copy machines.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Work schedule includes providing 24 hours/7 days a week support as required.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) field or related field; four (4) years experience in IT demonstrating technical knowledge to independently design, test, and implement intermediate to complex business or clinical applications systems may be substituted for educational requirement.
• Based on area of assignment, must successfully complete and maintain certification(s) in the application(s) assigned, and as may be specified per the training agreement.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum six (6) years experience in specific IT area of responsibility.
• Two (2) years IT project management experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory/management experience.
• Expertise in specific areas of responsibility in IT.
• Knowledge and ability to lead projects/initiatives of moderate complexity.
